The Delivery Application is written in Java, and can be run on a wide variety of mobile devices, including ruggedized devices like those from Symbol Technologies and Intermec.

Want to extend control over inventory to your customer deliveries?

With DMS' new Delivery application and a hand-held computer, your driver uses the integrated barcode scanner to offload product. You can even watch inventory being updated from your home office computer.

The Delivery application can help you realize these benefits:

Here's how it works:

Customer delivery routes are assigned in the warehouse office and downloaded to the mobile computer. Stops and customer order data is downloaded. Drivers then take the mobile computer and logon to verify that the data is correct.

The driver selects each stop in turn and then the customer order. There may be multiple customers and orders per stop.

Start time is captured when delivery begins for an order. If you use route optimization software, these times can be imported to make optimization quicker and more accurate, which in turn, can lead to improved driver productivity.

Each item is scanned and then ordered count is entered.

When the delivery for the order is complete, inventory updates are transmitted to the home office computer, where the effect on inventory can be immediately seen.

Times are captured for each order line and for the entire order, which can be used to analyze driver performance.

When a stop is completed, order(s) can be released to billing. A planned enhancement to the Delivery application will allow real-time billing.

Despite it's usefulness, DMS's Delivery application is very easy to use. Its dedicated focus on the driver minimizes the possibility of error. Driver training is also easy, since the application closely tracks the driver's work-flow.

Finally, we can easily and quickly integrate the Delivery application into almost any existing distribution software.
